A woman of class, grace, and distinction, Co-Pastor Elena Robertson is truly a 21st century example of the Proverbs 31 woman. Her humble beginnings in Stafford, Virginia uniquely qualifies her to testify of the power of God to raise up anyone who desires to see God’s destiny and purpose fulfilled in their lives.

With a love for Jesus Christ and a passion for excellence, Co-Pastor Elena Robertson matriculated to James Madison University (JMU) where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. While her focus was on learning the skills she needed for an excellent career, God ordained that her days on the campus of JMU would always be remembered as a place where she received both a higher education and a higher calling. It was her involvement in the campus ministry that led to a divine connection with her husband and former classmate, Bishop Daniel Robertson, Jr.

That higher calling led them to consecutive pastoral assignments while the Lord began to stir the multiple gifts and talents within this mighty woman of God. Her ministry began as a Psalmist and it was evident that behind that melodious voice and beautiful smile was the heart of a worshipper. As she faithfully supported her husband as Co-Pastor of the Mt. Gilead Full Gospel International Ministries, located in Richmond, Virginia, her burden for women’s ministry grew in intensity. This preacher and teacher of the Gospel began to acknowledge her burden for women who have hidden treasures within and a hunger to fulfill their divine destiny. With the Lord’s leading, she birthed Women of the Word (WOW), a ministry to the whole woman: spirit, soul, and body. Today, WOW has reached women of all ages with a practical Word that addresses the challenges they face in all dimensions of their life.

In addition to her role as founder and overseer of WOW, Co-Pastor Elena recognizes that God has called her to the nations. She is actively involved in overseas ministry and recently traveled to Thailand with a team of women to address human trafficking; a modern-day form of slavery and exploitation. In 2003, Co-Pastor Elena expanded her ministry by publishing her first book, “The Mentor in You”, which provides a wealth of information on the often-misunderstood mentor – protégée relationship. Now in its fourth printing, this easy-to-read guide explores a variety of mentor relationships along with biblical examples of how this divine connection can enrich your life.

A worshipper at heart, Co-Pastor Elena released her debut CD project in 2007 entitled “Amazing” True to its title, this compilation of soulful melodies and high praise reveals the intimate relationship she has with the Lover of her Soul. It’s no secret that this woman of God is on a mission, at home and abroad to be a vessel of honor, fit for the Master’s use. Together with her husband, they are the proud parents of four special gifts from God; Daniel III, Charity Joy, David Jeremiah, and Moriah Joyelle.
