The mission of SOS Moms is to minister to pregnant teens and young moms up to age 23 with a message of hope while ministering abstinence and wisdom in healthy choices for themselves and their children, through prayer, advocacy and mentorship.
Participants in these meet-ups can look forward to receiving timely and relevant information that can assist them in parenting: balancing care for their children and themselves. Meet-ups are usually every other month.
Previous meet-ups have included, Goal Setting, Budgeting and Parenting Skills. The ministry seeks to identify and address issues faced by teen mothers such as self-esteem, proper relationships and abstinence. The SOS Moms ministry has partnered with the Virginia Department of Health as well as the Richmond Pregnancy Resource Center in initiatives to reach out to pregnant teens and young mothers within our community.
The ministry also participates in outreaches throughout the year that extend beyond the church walls in an effort to change the lives of teen mothers through the love of God.
